It is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the climate system and that widespread and rapid climate change has occurred. The global surface temperature has increased approximately 1.5°C since 1850, since preindustrial.
Each of the last four decades has been warmer than any previous decade since 1850. For every half degree global warming increases further, there will be an increase in temperature extremes, intensity of heavy rainfall and severe drought.
Mernild will give you an assessment of the changes in the climate system we have seen over time, but also what we can expect to see in the decades to come.
